The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is registered with the Charity Commission (Charity Number 1106893) and largely operates by fundraising through a range activities including art exhibitions, events and other commercial initiatives. Grants from revenue generated are deployed to organisations in Africa and Asia to conservation projects which protect natural areas, engage local communities, educate local people and conduct research to learn how best to protect their native wildlife. The Foundation also funds projects which fight wildlife crime and campaigns for stronger laws to protect endangered species.
The Foundation aims to keep administration costs to an absolute minimum in order to ensure that a healthy percentage of unrestricted donations received reaches projects on the ground. 100% of all restricted donations are deployed to projects and no administration fees are deducted from this income stream.
